Invisalign FAQs – Daytona Beach, FL
Providing Clear Answers For Straighter Teeth
You want to straighten your teeth, and know you don’t want traditional braces. Before you jump head first into the world of Invisalign in Daytona Beach, it’s important that you are clearly informed of all the important aspects that come with wearing clear aligners. Review these frequently asked questions before talking with Dr. Gladston Silva or Dr. Lisset Gonzalez about Invisalign. At Lakeside Daytona Dentist, we want our patients to be educated about their treatment, so schedule an appointment with us to discuss your dental needs.
What is the Treatment Process?
When preparing to begin treatment with Invisalign, you will first need to schedule a consultation visit with either Dr. Silva or Dr. Gonzalez. Once they evaluate your smile and draft a customized treatment plan, you will be shown step-by-step what your smile will look like by the time treatment is complete. You must approve of your plan before beginning to wear your clear aligners in Daytona Beach. You must agree to wear your aligners for 20-22 hours each day.
Once you finish a set after either one or two weeks of wear (this will depend on your doctor’s instructions), you will swap them for a new set. You can expect each set to gradually move your teeth in the right direction until the desired result is achieved.
Why Should I Feel Confident About Invisalign Treatment?
There are many reason Invisalign can give you the confidence you need. Even during the treatment process, you can be assured knowing you’re receiving a safe and effective tooth straightening solution. But if that’s not enough, here are some other reasons you can be glad you chose clear braces in Daytona Beach:
- More than 6 million people have used Invisalign to straighten their teeth.
- It’s the most advanced clear aligner system in the world.
- Invisalign braces are removable and almost invisible. There’s no need to alter the way you eat or change your oral habits.
- No other aligner system is made from SmartTrack material, which allows your teeth to move more predictably at a faster rate.
How Do I Take Care of My Aligners?
If you’re worried about having to use special tools to clean your clear braces, you’re in luck. Cleaning your aligners is as easy as using the Invisalign Cleaning System, which you can retrieve from your doctor or online. However, until you are able to get the system, you can rinse your trays in lukewarm water and use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean them. Just remember, never use hot water on your trays, as it can warp the plastic. Also, make sure to brush your teeth after every meal so that any food and bacteria are removed prior to reinserting your trays.
If you drop your aligners, make sure to clean them. It’s important that they are thoroughly cleaned before putting them in your mouth. It may be beneficial to simply keep them in a protective case when you remove them to eat or drink.
What Happens When I’m Done with Invisalign Treatment?
Once you’ve completed Invisalign treatment, Dr. Silva or Dr. Gonzalez will recommend that you wear a retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position. Since each patient’s dental needs are different, you may or may not need a retainer.
If you do need one, your doctor will recommend one or various types to choose from. Depending on your specific needs, our doctors will instruct you as to how long you’ll need to wear your new retainer. Most patients will wear it full time at first before gradually reducing the amount of wear until it’s only worn at night.
